From a Garden Shed to Booths Flooring Ltd

Every successful business starts somewhere. For Booths Flooring Ltd, it started over 15 years ago in a humble garden shed in Burnley.

My journey into the flooring trade began with a simple idea, a lot of determination and a passion for finding great carpets and rugs. I would travel to Manchester to the rug wholesalers, buy rugs and bring them back to sell. It was a small operation, but I loved what I was doing, and little did I know that those early days would eventually lead to the family business we have today.

Learning the trade

In 2008, I took another big step and went to work for a carpet shop. Over the years, I learned the trade from the ground up, gaining experience not only in carpets and flooring, but also in the most important part of running a business: looking after customers.

My hard work and commitment eventually led to me becoming a shareholder in the business. It was an important chapter in my journey, and it gave me the experience and confidence to eventually take the biggest step of all.

Building our own family business

In 2020, just after the pandemic, my wife Katy, my sons and I decided it was time to build something of our own. And not forgetting my number one nephew Ayrton, who has worked hard alongside us.

That is when Booths Flooring Ltd was born.

We chose to open our shop in Burnley because Burnley is home. This is where we live, where our families are, and where we wanted to build a business that could give something back to the community around us.

From day one, our ambition has been simple: give every customer the care, service and attention we would expect ourselves.

We do not want people to feel like just another sale. We want them to feel looked after, listened to and confident that they have made the right choice. Whether you are looking for carpets, flooring or simply some honest advice, we are here to help.

A true family business

Today, Booths Flooring Ltd is still very much a family affair. Myself, Katy and our sons work together seven days a week, running the shop while also trying to balance the most important thing of all: family life.

It is hard work, but we love it. We have built Booths Flooring Ltd around the values that matter to us: family, hard work, honesty, great service and looking after our local community.

Looking back, it is incredible to think that this journey began with rugs being sold from a shed in the back garden. Today, we are proud to have our own family-run flooring business in Burnley, and we are incredibly grateful to every customer who has supported us along the way.
